Wantable Style Edit is a personal styling subscription. It works similar to Stitch Fix – fill out your style profile and size info, pay a $20 styling fee (credited against your purchase), and if you buy everything in your edit, you’ll save 20%. Wantable also has style subscriptions for accessories, makeup, or intimates wear, plus another personal styling subscription for fitness clothing.
Before we start to dig into my review on Wantable‘s version of a Stitch Fix subscription clothing box, let me tell you, I expected to hate it. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews about their Style Edit box over the past couple of months. In fact, the only reason I tried this service was because they emailed me a coupon code waiving the $20 subscription fee for 1 box. I figured, heck, I should at least try it – what have I got to lose?
I filled out my profile and included a short note in my profile to my stylist, outlining the basics of the styles I like and what not to send:
I really was interested to see what would come, anticipating the box with VERY low expectations.
To my surprise, what I was sent wasn’t half bad! In fact, I would say that my first Wantable Style Edit box was better than my first Stitch Fix box.
So let’s dig in, shall we?
Items # 1 & 2: Kut from the Kloth White Catherine Boyfriend Jeans & RD Style Blush Cowl Neck Sweater
So, the jeans were too short but cute. I already own a great pair of white jeans that I bought from LOFT in tall, so I didn’t need those. The sweater, though, I actually really liked, especially paired with white jeans. I thought it was cute and it was super soft. My husband, however, really hated it, and while that doesn’t always stop me from buying something, this time, I passed on the sweater.
Item # 3: Sneek Peak Pink Plaid shirt
This top was a near-miss. I loved the colors! I don’t have pink plaid anything so it was a fun surprise! But the fit was a little too small. The buttons pulled in the chest area and the length was a little short. If not for those concerns, I would have kept this top!
Item # 4: RD Style Fringe Hem Sweater
I. Hate. Fringe.
Really, really hate it. I know lots of people love it, but not me. So this sweater, while I loved the length, I knew before I tried it on, I wouldn’t like it.
Item # 5: Jack Kath Sweater
I loved the elements of this sweater: Stripes = good. Split back = good. Soft = good. Length = good. But the fit was very loose and I felt it was boxy, which I wasn’t a fan of. Also it was the most expensive top in the box, which didn’t help me want to keep it.
So if you are keeping track, I didn’t keep anything from this box but I was very happy with the items I was sent. They weren’t outrageously priced and the style was what I asked for. I enjoyed Wantable Style Edit much more than I expected! Would I order another box? Yes! But the next Wantable box I get will be the Fitness Edit, so stay tuned!
