I can’t believe it’s October already! September just flew by – we celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday with a surprise (to her) DISNEY WORLD trip & we all got sick upon arriving home, so some highs & lows for the month of September.
I received my October box a few days ago but just now have made time to try on & think about what I might want to keep.
I did things a little differently for my Stitch Fix note & requests this month. I asked Kate to send me a “whole outfit”. Now, since I have large feet (hello, size 11s), Stitch Fix doesn’t carry shoes in my size (sad).
So knowing I wouldn’t be eligible for shoes, I asked for: a top, pair of pants/jeans, accessory, bag, & then maybe a cardigan or dress for the 5th piece. Kate sent some fun pieces:
(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)
I was a little sad on the lack of color, but beyond that, my first thoughts were that I really liked aspects of each item.
Let’s dig in!
Item # 1: Dolce Vita Sahara Lasercut Saddle Bag
I liked the color and laser cut/detailing of this bag!
Plus the size wasn’t too large or small for my tastes!
I loved the inside fabric – so fun & colorful!
But here’s the thing – I have a bag super similar to this one already, Moda Luxe brand. It’s hard for me to want to have 2 purses that are so similar. I’m probably going to send this back, even though I really like it.
Item # 2: Romolo Genevieve Stacked Chevron Pendant Necklace
So this necklace is ADORABLE.
I’ve been in the world of Stitch Fix long enough now that I know this is also a super popular piece.
I love it but again – and I kid you not – I have an almost identical necklace I bought from TJ Maxx that is so similar, I wouldn’t keep this one, too. Otherwise this would be a keeper, too!
Since this is a “whole outfit” fix, I am going to list the next 3 items together, because I styled them as an outfit 🙂
Items #3-5: Market & Spruce Arcola Side Binding Knit Top, Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan, and Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean
So here’s what everything looks like together!
The jeans are nice & stretchy, super long, and soft.
Long enough to cuff even! I have a couple pairs of dark wash skinny jeans though, so I’m wishing these were another wash. I’m not sure I want to spend $88 on another pair of dark skinnies.
The Market & Spruce green knit top is SO soft but I am not a huge fan of the color. Plus it’s very flowy and looks boxy in my opinion. I don’t plan to keep it.
And finally, the cardigan is such a steal (price-wise) that I almost knew I would keep it before trying it on.
Zipping it up was a little difficult. 😉
And my husband isn’t a fan of it zipped (he says it’s too bulky in the front with extra fabric). But I’m keeping it to wear unzipped. So soft & budget-friendly.
The whole box in one outfit:
What a fun box to try on! I’ve never done a special request for an outfit like that, so it was a neat month 🙂 I am on the fence on the jeans, would have kept the necklace & bag if I didn’t have pieces almost identical, and will probably keep the navy cardigan. The only piece I didn’t like was the green knit top. I’d say this was a fantastic Stitch Fix month!
What about you? What would you have kept?
