Stitch Fix Review – June 2017

IMG_9630

My June Stitch Fix box came right on time – and as it has been awhile since my last review, I was more than ready for it.  I didn’t request anything specific this time; I just told my stylist that I was going on a short getaway with my husband at the end of the month and wanted cute and casual summer clothes.

IMG_9626

When the box arrived I was actually at the pool – how summer is that?!

IMG_9631

I noticed that the box was small.  And when I opened it up (I didn’t peek!), the 5 items I was sent were all tops.  Fun!

IMG_9632

Stripes, floral, black, white, tanks and scallops.  What’s not to love?

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

Let’s try things on!

Item # 1:  American Able Casey Cross Front Knit Top

IMG_9591

Initial thoughts?  I love the color and details.  The price point is fantastic.  And I don’t own anything like this.

American Able Top

After trying this on – I really liked it.  I had to break out the ol’ strapless bra (yikes) but it was worth it!

American Able back

But after seeing the pictures when I started working on this blog, I am not so hot on this tank.  It seems unflattering on me; clingy but not in a good way.  I’m on the fence about this one.

Item # 2:  Jella C Cypress Side Slit Kimono

IMG_9587

I was super excited to see a floral kimono in my June fix!  I’ve wanted one of these for awhile now.

Floral Kimono

My stylist said I could use it as a swimsuit cover-up, too.  I totally will!

Floral Kimono 2

Isn’t it pretty?!  I love it.  I really love it.

Floral Kimono 3

It’s a keeper for sure.

Item # 3:  Le Lis Parsons Knit Top

IMG_9592

This top was underwhelming to me initially.  And when I was getting ready to try it on, I noticed a small hole in it.  So regardless, it’s going back – either for an exchange or just a return.

Black Striped Tank

It’s very flowy.  Meh.

Black Striped Tank with cardi

I added a cardigan (my new favorite from Evereve) and I liked it better.

Black Tank close uo

I was going for “sexy”.  I ended up with “creepy”.  Oh well!  Lol.  I did like the back detailing of the tank.

Back of black striped

But overall, I don’t love this tank and think this one will go back.

Item # 4:  Le Lis Deria Woven Back Knit Top

IMG_9586

Another Le Lis brand tank.  And another stripe/floral combo.  I am seeing a theme here.  I think, perhaps, I love floral and stripes.

Teal striped tank

It’s cute in the front, isn’t it?  Fun color and stripes are always wonderful.

Side of teal tank

It’s a good length and a soft knit.  But the best part?  It’s in the back.

Back of teal tank

Floral print?  Love.

The fit, overall, is a little boxy on me.  I’m debating on this one.

Item # 5:  Loveappella Riora Pleated Knit Halter

IMG_9588

Out of the box, I wasn’t really loving this one.

Halter top front better

But I don’t know.  I kinda like it on.

Halter top close uo.jpg

The pattern in the front is fun.

Back of halter tank

The back is a soft knit & plain.  But I don’t own a halter – so I’m debating on keeping this top, too.

By the way, can we talk about my released hem jeans?

Released hemmed jeans

I just got them and I love them!  The fact they are long enough for me is a blooming miracle.  Stitch Fix sells them, but I found them at a local store.

close up released hem

My June fix was SO fun to try on and deliberate on.  I am on the fence about the teal striped tank (with the fun floral in the back) and the halter top.

Any opinions?  What should I keep?  What item was your favorite?

Stitch Fix Review – April 2017

IMG_8921

Every month, when I sit down to write my next Stitch Fix review, I think “Man, this month has FLOWN by!”.  April is no different!  I can’t believe the month is already half over.

IMG_8922

My April Stitch Fix box came 5 days late, which ended up working well with my schedule to make time for taking pictures.  I had some serious battle of the wills going on about whether I should peek on my Stitch Fix app ahead of time or not, but in the end, I waited to be surprised.  I’m always happy I waited.

IMG_8782

I didn’t request anything specific this month, so this box was a complete surprise!  I did request a “budget” fix to see what price points looked like.  It turns out Stitch Fix on a budget is FUN!

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

IMG_8920

Right out of the box, I liked everything!  And this month, I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the park to play & fly kites for my photoshoot.  Let’s check out April’s box!

Item # 1:  Loveappella Nay Crochet Trim Knit Top

IMG_8783

First impression: I loved that this cream tank top wasn’t see-through!  That’s a rare quality in a light-colored cream top, in my experience.

IMG_8917

Unfortunately, the pros ended there for me.  I felt that the fit was a little off & I didn’t love the cut – it was boxy and too flowy at the bottom for my taste.

IMG_8916

Yep.  Sending this one back.  If only my muffin top was returnable, too!  😉

Item # 2:  Fun2Fun Andrae Tie Neck Blouse

IMG_8785

I’m a sucker for floral patterns – this one is no exception!

IMG_8919

Isn’t it cute?  The drawstring is a nice touch, too.  The pattern, like I said, is adorable!  And the fabric was light & airy, too.

IMG_8918

The length, though, was short on me.  I plan to send this one back, too.

Item # 3:  Papermoon Lonni Crochet Back Knit Top

IMG_8787

This was my least favorite item in the box – I like the crochet detailing, especially in the back, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the plainness of the top.  But check out that price!!  $38?!  Way to go Stitch Fix for a budget-friendly item!

IMG_8914

IMG_8862

It grew on me after trying it on.  And even more after reviewing the pictures.

IMG_8915

I dunno, y’all.  I might end up keeping it.  It’s cute, subtle, and a good price!

Item # 4:  Dear John Lillie Cuffed Demin Shorts

IMG_8784

You’ve been seeing these shorts all through my previous pictures.  I couldn’t really change bottoms in the park, so I wore them with all 4 of the tops Stitch Fix sent me.

FullSizeRender

I love the Dear John brand.  These shorts are no different: great quality, good length, and good fit.

IMG_8911

My only minor, small complaint?  The cuff isn’t sewn in place.  It came pre-rolled, but after 1 wash, it will be hard to re-roll.   And this mama don’t do ironing  Ain’t nobody got time for that.  Because of that, I’ll probably send the shorts back.

Item # 5:  Leo & Nicole Amalia Knit Top

IMG_8786

I saved the best (& cheapest) for last!

IMG_8913

I. LOVE. THIS. TOP.

IMG_8912

It’s long enough to wear with leggings.  The pattern is orange and I have nothing orange in my closet.  I can’t remember the last time I tried on something orange that I liked that wasn’t Halloween themed.

IMG_8909

I’m keeping it!  At $34 it’s basically a no-brainer.

Overall, this month’s fix was SO fun to try on and decide on.  I would have kept those shorts, if not for the cuff/roll not being sewn in place.  That orange top – my keeper – is just the best!  I love it.

Would you have kept something different?  What item was your favorite?

Stitch Fix Review – March 2017

IMG_8103

March has arrived & is already half over!  So far, I think the month of March has brought colder days that February, ironically.  But I’m still in a SPRING mood – so much so, that I put most of my sweaters away and pulled out my lighter items.  Maybe that was a little premature, given our frosty weather (there’s SNOW in the forecast this weekend, y’all), but I couldn’t help it!

IMG_8180

I pushed my March Stitch Fix box up by a week so that it would arrive before vacation.  I figured I would rather have the new clothes *before* vacation and not afterwards.

IMG_8178

March’s box was small but packed a BRIGHT punch!  I loved the floral print immediately out of the box (I’m totally crushing on florals this spring).

IMG_8181

I asked for another maxi dress this fix.  If you remember from February’s fix, I received a maxi dress that I almost kept but decided, ultimately, that the elastic waistline was a deal breaker for me.  But I really wanted a maxi dress to take on vacation and I figured if ANYONE could find another maxi dress long enough for me, it would be Stitch Fix.

IMG_8179

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

IMG_8100

Let’s dig in to March’s Stitch Fix and see what Kate sent me!

*Spoiler alert* she did find another maxi that was almost TOO long for me (WHAT!?!).

Item # 1:  Catherine Malandrino Meia Ladder Bar Pendant Necklace

IMG_8028

When this necklace arrived, it was a tangled mess that took me a good 10 minutes & several cuss words to unravel.

IMG_8183

This was the only item Kate sent that was on my Pinterest board.  I love pendant necklaces of all kinds these days.

IMG_8182

I love the layers and pendant length.  I wasn’t a huge fan of the tail ends.  According to the style card the necklace should look like this on:

IMG_8177

But those two little dangles look weird to me.  I pulled them through, making the necklace longer, and liked it much better.  You’ll see that in the next set of pictures.

Item # 2:  Lemon Tart Shania Knit Maxi Dress

IMG_8030

“Holy cow!  That is an expensive dress!” were basically my first thoughts after checking the price list.  I mean, wow.  This is a $100 maxi dress.  Ouch.

But you guys, this is, by far, hands down, no competition, THE LONGEST MAXI DRESS I’ve  ever tried on.  Ever.  And I’m 6 foot tall.

IMG_8175

Besides the price, my other complaint about this dress is that the V-neck is SUPER deep.  I would never wear it without a cami underneath, like what is pictured.

IMG_8176

Because of the price and v-neck cut, I probably won’t keep this maxi, even though it truly is deliciously long.  It pains me to send it back for that reason alone.  PAINS ME.

Item # 3:  Olive & Oak Ailie Swing Knit Tank

IMG_8032

This tank top was my husband’s favorite of the bunch.

IMG_8173

I do really love that it’s knit & the colors are great!

IMG_8172

But I’m not a huge fan of the pattern, personally.  I try to think: “would I pick this out in a store, or am I just tempted to keep it because Stitch Fix sent it to me?”.

IMG_8174

I feel like outside of it being a Stitch Fix item, I wouldn’t keep this.  I’ll probably send this back.

Item # 4:  Daniel Rainn Albado Crew Neck Blouse

IMG_8031

Item # 5:  Dear John Finnegan Cuffed Shorts

IMG_8029

Kate told me to style these 2 items together, so I did. 🙂

IMG_8171

Now *this* is an outfit I can picture wearing on a cruise ship!  I mean, besides the pale girl wearing this outfit, the whole ensemble is screaming SUMMER and BEACH!

IMG_8169

When I took these pictures today, it was 33 degrees out.  I was mentally working really hard to think WARM thoughts!

IMG_8170

I love, love the shorts.  I like the brand “Dear John” and have a couple pairs of that brand already.  They are a good length; they don’t ride up or make me pick a wedgie every 10 minutes, which is a great plus for anyone who happens to be around me.  And this color is such a great pale blue, with white undertones.  I plan to keep the shorts!

IMG_8168

Let’s talk about this blouse.  It’s gorgeous, super fun, & flattering (not too boxy or billowy).  But it’s 100% polyester (not my favorite fabric).  And Daniel Rainn is one of those brands I can easily find local to me at TJ Maxx, so it’s always hard for me to pay more than $20 for the brand.  I don’t think I will keep this either, just because of the cost.  But I could be convinced otherwise, if you think it’s a keeper!

IMG_8167

All in all, I loved my March Stitch Fix box!  There were, as usual, a couple near-misses, and one great pair of shorts!!

Would you have kept something different?  What item was your favorite?

Stitch Fix Review – February 2017

img_7702

February has simply *flown* by & I can’t believe it’s time for me to write up another Stitch Fix review!

I gave basically no instructions in my note to my wonderful stylist, Kate, this month.  I told her this fix would be my (early) birthday fix AND my “I’m going on my first Disney Cruise” fix! *insert SQUEAL here*

fullsizerender-6

Kate styled this fix with the cruise in mind and none of the items were on my pinterest board.  She did a fantastic job!

img_7665

My initial thoughts just looking at the items out of box were that I loved the colors & summery items.  It’s refreshing to get non-sweater items in a fix!

img_7676

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

img_7681

I had a lot of fun playing around with pictures this fix – the colors and patterns of items made it FUN!

img_7701

I tried on this box quickly because I want your opinion, as usual, and this time I have until Tuesday to decide!

Item # 1: Hazel Fawcett Embroidery Detail Knit Top

Item # 2:  Kut from the Kloth Siena Cropped Pant

img_7693

img_7694

Kate picked this top out & suggested I pair it with the fuchsia cropped pants she also sent.  She thought it would be a great causal outfit for the cruise.  So I paired them together trying things on.

img_7724

I love the color of the pants.  And the embroidered top is a little flowy, but super summery and feels like a fun top for the cruise.

img_7729

The pants fit  like a glove & are bright & PINK (I love pink).

img_7732

The top’s embroidered detail is gorgeous.  I love it.

img_7731

I’m undecided on both of these though.  The pants are a little snug in the calves.  I’ve always had big calves, so this isn’t an unusual problem for me.  And the top is a little boxy.  Any thoughts on these pieces?

Item # 3:  En Creme Pearla Ruffle Hem Knit Top

img_7692

Let me start by saying: black & white stripes.  LOVE.

img_7742

I love this top!  I love the stripes and I’ve always loved the peplum look.  This isn’t true peplum, but it’s close.

img_7751

Buuuuuut….the peplum/ruffle hem isn’t super flattering.  Will I wear this piece?  I think I will.

img_7756

Jonathan isn’t a fan of this one, but I can’t help it.  I really love it.  Be honest, y’all.  I can take it.  Is this top worth keeping?  Or is the peplum/ruffle hem a no-go?

Item # 4:  Renee C Reyna Knit Maxi Dress

img_7695

Jonathan loves maxi dresses, and so he was happy to see Kate sent one for our vacation.

img_7759

This is a super long maxi dress – crazy it’s long enough for my 6 foot self.

img_7771

It basically screams “beach” with it’s bright colors and fun chevron pattern, doesn’t it?

img_7761

I don’t know, though.  I feel like this isn’t that flattering on me.  The elastic waist isn’t my favorite.  I’m, SHOCKER, undecided on this, too.

Item # 5:  Fun2Fun Nova Crochet Detail Tunic

img_7696

Kate mentioned that this tunic could be worn with shorts and strappy sandals OR it could be used as a cute swimsuit coverup.  I love both ideas.

img_7781

img_7775

I love the length!  I love that it’s white.  I am not a fan that it’s see-through.

img_7780

It IS super fun to wear with shorts and sandals, though.

img_7784

Guess what?  I’m undecided on this one, too.

I feel like I could go either extreme with this fix: either I keep 1 item (probably the blue tunic or striped top) or I keep it all!!  This is what I love about Stitch Fix: you have 3 full days to decide.  I like being about to sleep on it, get outside opinions (YOU!!), and pair my new Stitch Fix pieces with items already in my closet.

I’ll come back and update this blog, letting you what I keep for my upcoming cruise!

Stitch Fix Review – January 2017

img_7333

My last 2 fixes were flops and I sent everything back two months in a row (yikes!).  So I decided I needed to do a rehab of my style profile and Pinterest board.

I deleted almost all of my old pins, spent an embarrassing amount of hours browsing Pinterest for fresh Stitch Fix pins, and left a note for my stylist to draw as much from my Pinterest board as she could.

And then I waited.  My January box came a bit early, which was a nice surprise!

img_7322

I hoped that good things came in small packages, but my Stitch Fix bundle was small for the middle of winter.  Then again, when I took pictures today, it was 60 degrees and sunny.  On January 21.  Crazy!

img_7325

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

Kate, my stylist, sent 3 items straight off my Pinterest board!  I was super excited to see the very coveted Olive & Oak Raglan top.  And, spoiler alert, I’m tempted to keep all 5 items.  But I’m getting ahead of myself & I want your input, so let’s check it out!

Item # 1:  Le Lis Woodburn Lace Back Knit Top

img_7308

Pulling this top out of the box, I immediately liked the jewel tone & lace detail.

img_7348

Kate said that she sent a size up for extra length, which is great, but I felt like the top made me look a little pregnant since the front was so baggy.

img_7343

But check out that LACE!

img_7344

I’m on the fence about this one; what do you all think?  If I keep it, I would go down a size.

Item # 2:  Market & Spruce Wilco Solid Quilted Vest

img_7306

This vest was from my Pinterest board.  My initial thought was I liked it better in the photo than in person.  It’s a little shiny in person.

img_7363

It fits really well but is a little out of my style comfort zone.

img_7370

But it did pair really nice with the raglan top Kate also sent.  And looking at it in the pictures, I like the vest.  This is the other item I’m on the fence about – thoughts??  Should I keep this?

Item # 3:  Olive & Oak Mulliken Raglan Striped Knit Top

img_7304

Oh my gosh you guys.  I love this top.

img_7357

Burgundy stripes!?!  Yes, please!  And it’s super soft.

img_7354

I didn’t pin this version of this raglan top, but I love it!  It’s a keeper!

img_7358

Item # 4:  Le Lis Adea Faux Suede Button Back Knit Top

img_7305

This top was a surprise & I thought I wouldn’t be a fan because of the suede.

img_7389

But as it turns out, I really love the cut & length of this top!  Plus the button back detail is so fun!

img_7382

This top improves on the basic black (or dark charcoal gray) shirt – I really love it.  I’m fairly sure I’ll keep it, too!

Item # 5:  Octavia Ellis Elephant Print Infinity Scarf

img_7303

This was another item that I pinned on my board – it’s a little out of my comfort zone, too. Elephant print scarf!

img_7372

Kate told me to pair it with the Le Lis Suede top & I did.

img_7375

I think I might keep this scarf, too!  It’s a fun print, it’s infinity (my favorite kind of scarf), and it’s cheap (for Stitch fix!).

img_7387

My January fix was so much better than my previous 2 fixes have been.  The fact I want to keep 3 out of 5 items right off the bat is unusual for me.  I have until Monday to decide on the Jewel toned lace top & the gray vest – so let me know what you think!

Stitch Fix Review – December 2016

img_6815

December is well underway & with it, a new Stitch Fix review!  I postponed this box a couple weeks because I knew that earlier in the month would be too busy for me to write a review.  Plus, it’s kind of fun getting a box of goodies right around Christmas; I mean, it feels like Christmas anytime a Stitch Fix box shows up at my door, but now it actually IS!

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

For my December box, I asked my stylist, Kate, for tops to wear with leggings & boots because basically that’s ALL I wear in the winter months.  I also mentioned a pendant necklace & Christmas Eve dress.

screen-shot-2016-12-06-at-3-55-20-pm

As per usual, Kate listened to my note and sent the things I asked for (she’s fantastic like that).

img_6813

My initial thought was there wasn’t a whole lot of color here – kind of dull colors that matched the season.

img_6821

But, as always, I was excited to try it all on and see what fit & worked for me!

Item # 1:  Bancroft Leighton Metal Bauble Necklace

img_6881

First impressions of this necklace is that it isn’t something I would EVER pick out for myself.  It’s a little too gaudy for my tastes.

img_6823

After trying it on with a couple outfits I already own and pairing it with the clothes that came in my box, I still didn’t like it – this is going back (I would have preferred a pendant necklace for sure!)

img_6863

Item # 2:  Laila Jayde Cordi Button Cuff Knit Top

img_6877

Pulling this top out of the box, I liked it!  I don’t have anything in my closet this color & it’s totally in season this fall/winter.  Plus the length is fantastic, a tunic, which is what I wanted.

img_6861

And the button cuffs were a cute detail, too.

img_6854

But after trying it one, the first comment my husband made was that the top is see-through.  And it is (bummer).  I *know* I can wear a cami under it, but for $58, I don’t want to have to – I wish this top was a bit thicker.  I’ll be sending this back, too.

img_6858

Item # 3:  41Hawthorn Eevie Textured Sweater Dress

img_6878

So I was a bit bummed to see this dress in my fix.  I did want a Christmas Eve dress, but I was hoping to get something more unique & not just a plain, black dress.

img_6845

The fabric is pretty rough, so it’s not a comfortable dress.

img_6849

And it’s short-sleeved, which is not weather appropriate for winter.  I know, I could add a cardigan, but for $88, I want a dress that is fun, unique, colorful, and warmer.  This goes back, too.

img_6851

Item # 4:  Papermoon Belford Raglan Knit top

img_6879

So Kate said in her note that I could wear this Raglan with leggings or jeans, but this top was WAY too short for leggings (I paired it with them so you can see).

img_6866

It’s a soft, cute top, and I could wear it with jeans, but it’s a total no-go for leggings.

img_6867

It’s a little pricey for the simplicity of it ($48), so I think I’ll send this one back, too.  If it was longer, I’d be more inclined to keep it.

Item # 5:  Hummingbird Bee Hooded Pocket Cardigan

img_6880

When I pulled this cardigan out of the box, I thought “Holy crap, I’m keeping this for SURE”, which is what I basically think about any cardigan that exists.  I love them.  I would wear them ALL the time.

img_6876

It’s so warm.  So soft.  Nice & long.  And it’s hooded!

img_6874

It’s basically all my favorite things in a cardigan.  My only complaint is that it doesn’t hold a shape well; so it looks pretty unflattering unless I’m holding it in place.

img_6875

I think that I dislike the cut of this cardigan enough, that I’ll send it back…with a few tears…

img_6869

So: if you are keeping track, my plan is to send all 5 items back.  That’s something that rarely happens to me, but this fix was just off for me.  Maybe, after 2 years of Stitch Fix, I’m getting too picky?  Or maybe Stitch Fix can’t read my mind ALL the time 😉

Whatever the reason, this fix wasn’t my favorite but that’s ok!  Hopefully my stylist does better next time 🙂

What do you think?  Would you have kept something that I sent back?

Stitch Fix Review – November 2016

img_6378

Fall is well underway and it’s time for my November Stitch Fix Review!  I asked Kate, my stylist, for some fun Fall pieces and jewel tones (because I’m loving that color scheme these days):

screen-shot-2016-10-13-at-9-51-55-pm

The tunic I asked for wasn’t in stock (boo!) but Kate sent some fun, colorful pieces in its stead, and I was immediately drawn towards the soft, gray tunic peeking out.

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

img_6381

Let’s try on!

Item # 1:  Fate Goodwin Cowl Neck Sweater

img_6347

I had this sweater pinned on my Pinterest Board as something I liked.

img_6417

And, boy, is this sweater SOFT.  It has 18% wool in it, and usually I can’t wear wool BUT man, I wore this around the house for an hour without any problems or itchiness.

img_6404

It’s a little see-through and thin, plus the fit is VERY loose, so at the wrong angle, I look HUGE, but I might just not care and keep this anyway.  It’s such a comfy piece.  I’m undecided on this top.

img_6407

img_6403

Item # 2: Market & Spruce Clarke Layered Hem V-Neck Pullover

img_6345

So Kate mentioned in her note that she sent this sweater for a better green color option than the top she sent last fix (see it HERE).

img_6439

I have decided something: I am just not a fan of green.  I didn’t love this sweater.  It’s soft, but the layered hem in the front is a little odd to me.  And the v-neck isn’t my favorite.  I added a blue vest just to see what I would think and still just “meh”.

img_6450

I’m planning to return this one.

Because Kate suggested pairing them together, let’s move onto Item # 3!

Item # 3:  Shiraleah Maxine Wrap Scarf

img_6344

I paired this scarf with the Market & Spruce green sweater & I felt like I was ready for Christmas!

img_6451

img_6456

While I L-O-V-E Christmas, I don’t love this combo.  I think it stems from the sweater and then the scarf, while super cute & fun, is bulky and awkward.  I would be sweating after 5 minutes of wearing it!

img_6461

I’m planning to send the scarf back, too.  *BAH HUMBUG!*  😉

Item # 4:  Loveappella Ledia Woven Detail Knit Top

img_6346

First impressions of this top was that I would keep it!

img_6431

I mean it’s so cute!  I love a mixed patterned top!

img_6430

And it’s knit, so it’s so soft and perfect for a stay at home mom.

img_6433

My husband wasn’t a huge fan of this one, though.  He didn’t like the pattern in the back.  So I’m undecided on this one, too!

Item # 5: Pixley Borrego V-Neck Sweater

img_6348

Look at those pretty jewel tones & stripes!

img_6421

Another plus was that this sweater was very long in both the sleeves & torso, just the way I like it!

img_6423

This is a cute top, that can easily be thrown on with a pair of jeans and booties, like I did in the pictures.  It’s knit, so it’s very comfortable, too.

Overall, I loved this fix!  Kate is totally amazing, as usual, and this was a fantastic Stitch Fix!  I’m debating on keeping the gray sweater, even with the boxy fit and wool mixed fabric, and the Loveappella top because my husband isn’t a fan of the print in the back.

What do you guys think?  What would you keep?

Stitch Fix Review – October 2016

img_6092

I can’t believe it’s October already!  September just flew by – we celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday with a surprise (to her) DISNEY WORLD trip & we all got sick upon arriving home, so some highs & lows for the month of September.

I received my October box a few days ago but just now have made time to try on & think about what I might want to keep.

img_6095

I did things a little differently for my Stitch Fix note & requests this month.  I asked Kate to send me a “whole outfit”.  Now, since I have large feet (hello, size 11s), Stitch Fix doesn’t carry shoes in my size (sad).

So knowing I wouldn’t be eligible for shoes, I asked for: a top, pair of pants/jeans, accessory, bag, & then maybe a cardigan or dress for the 5th piece.  Kate sent some fun pieces:

img_6119

(Btw, if you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

I was a little sad on the lack of color, but beyond that, my first thoughts were that I really liked aspects of each item.

img_6105

Let’s dig in!

Item # 1:  Dolce Vita Sahara Lasercut Saddle Bag

img_6140

I liked the color and laser cut/detailing of this bag!

img_6181

Plus the size wasn’t too large or small for my tastes!

img_6097

I loved the inside fabric – so fun & colorful!

img_6183

But here’s the thing – I have a bag super similar to this one already, Moda Luxe brand.  It’s hard for me to want to have 2 purses that are so similar.  I’m probably going to send this back, even though I really like it.

Item # 2:  Romolo Genevieve Stacked Chevron Pendant Necklace

img_6142

So this necklace is ADORABLE.

img_6104

I’ve been in the world of Stitch Fix long enough now that I know this is also a super popular piece.

img_6172

I love it but again – and I kid you not – I have an almost identical necklace I bought from TJ Maxx that is so similar, I wouldn’t keep this one, too.  Otherwise this would be a keeper, too!

Since this is a “whole outfit” fix, I am going to list the next 3 items together, because I styled them as an outfit 🙂

Items #3-5:  Market & Spruce Arcola Side Binding Knit Top, Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan, and Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean

img_6138

img_6139

img_6141

So here’s what everything looks like together!

img_6189

The jeans are nice & stretchy, super long, and soft.

img_6177

Long enough to cuff even!  I have a couple pairs of dark wash skinny jeans though, so I’m wishing these were another wash.  I’m not sure I want to spend $88 on another pair of dark skinnies.

img_6178

The Market & Spruce green knit top is SO soft but I am not a huge fan of the color.  Plus it’s very flowy and looks boxy in my opinion.  I don’t plan to keep it.

img_6168

And finally, the cardigan is such a steal (price-wise) that I almost knew I would keep it before trying it on.

img_6191

Zipping it up was a little difficult.  😉

img_6192

And my husband isn’t a fan of it zipped (he says it’s too bulky in the front with extra fabric).  But I’m keeping it to wear unzipped.  So soft & budget-friendly.

img_6194

The whole box in one outfit:

img_6196

What a fun box to try on!  I’ve never done a special request for an outfit like that, so it was a neat month 🙂  I am on the fence on the jeans, would have kept the necklace & bag if I didn’t have pieces almost identical, and will probably keep the navy cardigan.  The only piece I didn’t like was the green knit top.  I’d say this was a fantastic Stitch Fix month!

What about you?  What would you have kept?

Stitch Fix Review – September 2016

IMG_5291

September is here & with it some cooler temperatures in Illinois.  I honestly love summer, so I am kind of dreading the cold & dreary, but the one thing I do love about fall?  I bet you can guess: CLOTHES.  Cardigans are my fav.  I could live in them.

After my last, fantastic, August fix (here), I requested Kate as my permanent stylist by emailing Stitch Fix‘s customer service email: hello@stitchfix.com.  She’ll be styling me from now on – yay!

(If you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

For my September fix, here’s what my note said:

Screen Shot 2016-08-20 at 1.11.08 PM

And Kate did a great job!

IMG_5295

This time I DID NOT PEEK at the fix before it came (torture) so when I opened the box, I had no idea what would be inside.

IMG_5288

My initial thoughts were: There wasn’t a lot of color & the printed pants were a little “out there” for me.  But after reading Kate’s note, the pants were my “out of the box” item, so that totally made sense!

IMG_5296

I loved the idea of putting the elephant top with the printed pants after reading the note, so that’s exactly what I did!

Let’s dive in!

Item # 1:  Evolution by Cyrus Ladera Open Cardigan

IMG_5310

Basically as soon as I felt this cardigan, I knew I would keep it.  It’s SO soft.

IMG_5330

It’s nice & long in the sleeves, a great neutral color (so it will go with everything), and it’s SO soft (did I mention that already?).

IMG_5321

I will almost always say YES to a cardi.

IMG_5328

IMG_5332

I plan to keep it!

Item # 2: Tart Milla Crew Neck Knit Top

IMG_5311

IMG_5333

Well this top just screams: FALL.  The color combination is fantastic!

IMG_5346

It is nice & long, form-fitting without being too tight, and a fun piece. 🙂

IMG_5347

I’m on the fence about this one – I like it, but not sure if I would often wear it.  Plus, I think almost $60 for a knit top (no matter the colors/stripes) is steep.  What do you all think?

Items # 3 & 4: Liverpool Anita Printed Skinny Pant AND Pixley Ellie Printed 3/4 Sleeve Blouse

IMG_5312

IMG_5314.PNG

As I mentioned before – Kate suggested that I pair these two items together and add a statement necklace to the outfit, which I did:

IMG_5368

I have to admit, I really liked the 2 items together – it felt much more edgy that I typically wear.

The pants: so they are more of a legging material than a jean and pretty form-fitting.  They are also super long (for all my tall girls out there).

IMG_5372

The top is very blouse-y on me & boxy (according to my husband/photographer)

IMG_5365

The elephants are CUTE though.

IMG_5381

I’m pretty sure I won’t keep the pants, but am unsure on the top – what do you all think?

Item # 5:  Brixon Ivy Sylvester Split Neck Blouse

IMG_5313

You guys.  The color of this top is gorgeous.  I love bold jewel tones like this!

IMG_5354

I kept it simple with the outfit & loved that I still felt dressy.

IMG_5355

My husband thought this was too boxy, too, like the Elephant top.  But I like it!  My only hesitation is that it’s Polyester (I’m preferring knit items more and more these days) and that the length is a little short.  I’m undecided on this one, too!

IMG_5287

Overall this was a great fix!  Even the “out of the box” item was a fun try-on.  I love that about Stitch Fix: you style things you never would otherwise.

What do you think?  What would you keep?  I love shopping “virtually” with you!

Stitch Fix Review # 2 – August 2016

FullSizeRender

Hi, I’m Sara & I have a a problem.

I’m so addicted to getting Stitch Fix Boxes in the mail.

I have been good and only been getting 1 fix/month for a long while, and then last month, I got TWO July Fixes (here & here).

So I decided for August I would only get my usual single fix.  But then this happened:

Screen Shot 2016-08-01 at 5.18.54 PM

I WON A STITCH FIX CONTEST!!  I haven’t ever won anything this exciting, ever.  I was over the moon for days, I tell you, days.

So with my Stitch Fix credit burning holes in my pockets, I totally caved & schedule another August fix.  Because WHY NOT??

(If you are new to Stitch Fix skip to the end of this post for a short description of the whats and how-tos & for a link to sign up for your own box of happiness!)

Since I had lost my longtime stylist, I decided to give Jenn another shot (if you remember I wasn’t in love with my first August fix) because I hadn’t really asked for anything in my note, so there wasn’t a lot of direction (since I was expecting my old stylist to be styling me).

Here’s what my note said:

Screen Shot 2016-08-02 at 7.07.15 PM

And when my box arrived, I was surprised to see that Jenn was not my stylist for this box after all, but a totally new girl, Kate, was.

IMG_4784

But after looking at all the fabulous items, and feeling like it would be hard for me to decide on what to keep, I know I will keep one thing: KATE.  She did a great job on this box!

IMG_4793

Floral, stripes, dress, denim: check, check, check, & half-check.  I asked for shorts, but got jeans, but that’s ok!

IMG_4808

So many fun, pretty things to try on!

IMG_4794

Out of the box, I immediately loved the dress & striped hoodie.  After trying things on, I’m unsure on both.  I have until Tuesday of THIS week to check out so give me feedback 🙂

Item # 1:  Skies are Blue Delila Embroidery Neckline Knit Top

IMG_4732

This is my least favorite item – it’s too blah of a color for me.  The cut is nice, and the pattern is fun though.

IMG_4821

IMG_4960

Me, hiding from the neighbors, because it’s embarrassing how frequently I pose for pictures in our front yard.

IMG_4959

After trying this on, I’m still not loving it so much.  It’s probably going back.

Item # 2: Liverpool Collen 4 way stretch Straight Leg Jean

IMG_4733

I have to say I am really impressed with the length of these jeans!

IMG_4953

Here’s the thing with these jeans – I have dark skinnies from a previous fix that I l-o-v-e and I can cuff.  These I can’t cuff because they are baggy at the bottom.  I think I’ll send these back, too.

Item # 3:  Papermoon Jalen Lace Detail Dress

IMG_4734

This dress is amazing you guys.  I have nothing like it in my closet and it isn’t too short!

IMG_4932

Such a pretty floral print!

IMG_4930

My husband isn’t a fan of the shoulders on this dress….he thinks they are boxy & the top is a little too blouse-y.

IMG_4933

What do you guys think?  Keep or not?

IMG_4929

Item # 4:  Loveappella Sevilla Funnel Neck French Terry Sweatshirt

IMG_4735

I love this one!  So soft & cosy!  And striped!

IMG_4976

IMG_4968

It’s such a fun piece!

IMG_4971

I love the details in the cuffs:

IMG_4975

I am pretty sure I’ll keep this!

IMG_4972

Item # 5:  Papermoon Catarina Knit Top

IMG_4736

I love the color of this top!

IMG_4945

It’s super soft and a nice length.

IMG_4946

I’m not sure on this one either.  It seems a little plain Jane for $44.  It will probably go back unless you all convince me otherwise! 😉

IMG_4948

That’s it!

This was a great fix, especially considering that my stylist was completely new to me!  I need your help, though!  I have until Tuesday to check out: what do you think of the Papermoon dress?  Keep or no?

PS Like my necklace & earrings?  They are from Rocksbox!  For a limited time, For a limited time, anyone who signs up & use promo code sarabff504 will get their first month free (a $19 value!) and $10 to spend on anything you want to keep!Jewelry close up
