Stitch Fix Review – August 2018

Hello August!!  School is just around the corner and since I homeschool our pre-schooler & 1st grader, I have been busy organizing and buying books for this school year.  In fact, between that & coming home from vacation in MN, I forgot to put a note on my Stitch Fix box this month!  Eek!

But of course my stylist didn’t miss a BEAT.  She sent a fantastic box & I need some help deciding what to keep in this month’s Stitch Fix.

While I didn’t request anything specific this month, I did get some of my favorites: floral, pinks, jeans, and fun sparkly earrings.  *swoon*

Let’s dive in!

Item # 1: West Kei Edith Knot Detail Blouse

Knotted tops are my current weakness.  I went from owning none to, like, 6 of them over the course of this summer.

You know what I’ve unsurprisingly discovered?  Most of them are too short on me.  #tallgirlprobs

This top’s print is gorgeous.  But it’s way too short in the front.  You’ll see…these next photos highlighting the jeans I was sent shows more of my belly than I would like (which is none of it).

Item # 2: Kut from the Kloth Dayna Skinny Jean

I am a huge fan of the Kut from the Kloth brand.  The jeans are very good quality with a much lower price than most premium jean brands.

HELLO BELLY.  I need to stop, drop and do some crunches.  But that’s how high the top rose from just putting my arms in the back pockets of these jeans.  NOPE.

But I’m off-topic.  These jeans are soft, stretchy, and comfy.  I love them!  But I don’t need another pair of classic blue skinny jeans.  So…I’m sending them back.  Just because how many pairs of jeans can 1 girl own?  How much is TOO much?

Gah!  I am tempted.  They fit like buttah.

NO.  WALK AWAY FROM THE SKINNY JEANS.

Whew.

Ok.  We’re moving on.

Item # 3:  Kevia Amy Five Piece Stud Set

Um….ADORBS.

Kids get day of the week underpants.  I get day of the week stud earrings.  I’m loving this set of earrings.  I wear simple stud earrings 99% of the time.

I’m leaning towards keeping these.  Thoughts?

Item # 4:  ID: 23 Shaelyn One Pocket Linen Blend Top

This top is delightfully long.  And not over-priced.

I feel like it’s light enough, both in color & fabric weight, to be worn in the spring & fall.  Bonus.

I’m keeping it.  It’s not pulling in the chest either.  My 4 year old emphatically did NOT like this top, but whatever.  She wears athletic shorts with princess tops.  She has no style sense.

Item # 5:  French Grey Murphy Brushed Knit Dress

Out of the box, I liked the pattern of this dress, but immediately thought: Oh, that’s gonna be way too short.

I’m laughing here because my husband/photographer likes the dress the best of the box.  I imagine he had almost the same thought process: oh, this dress is gonna be way short!

It’s cute.  It I think it would never be something I would be truly comfortable in, given the length.  But should I branch out a bit and try it?  What do you all think?  Husband says yes. Ha!

Overall – a really good fix, given I left no instructions or requests!  I am keeping the plaid for sure, considering the dress and stud earring set, and trying to ignore the fact that I want the jeans.

Stitch Fix Review – July 2018

Summer has just simply flown by!  How is it July already?  I’ve been getting very regular Stitch Fix boxes since my last review, but I am being the worst about taking the time to snap pictures and review them.  Since getting the Style Pass, I love getting a box every 2-3 weeks and darn it, if my stylist doesn’t send amazing things.  Stitch Fix sucked me in with the Style Pass and I’m buying more than ever.

For my July Stitch Fix box I requested things I could travel in easily – comfy clothing.  I have just come back from the Toy Story Land opening in Disney World (see my live video here) & am getting ready for our annual trip to MN for a couple weeks.  Travel is our theme for this 2018 year.

After opening up the box, I was loving that there was graphic, stripes, AND floral in there!  Plus, bonus, jogger pants that are long enough.  What?!

Item # 1:  Pink Clover Jonelle Hooded Knit Top

I’ll admit it.  I peeked at these style cards before the fix came.  And when I saw this top, I cringed.  It doesn’t look like me on the style card.

But…

I put it on and it was so soft, a wonderful length, and super long sleeves.  I kinda liked it.

I liked it much better than I expected.  So also pictured in the above picture are the jogger pants I mentioned:

Item # 2: T4T Ani Drawstring Jogger Pant

I have to say, these were a nice surprise.  I immediately assumed they would be too short.  But as it turns out, they fit nicely, were extremely comfy, and long enough!  I’m tempted to keep these.

Item # 3: Skies are Blue Allison Chambray Top

Sigh.  I love Chambray.

This one fit nicely, not too baggy, not too short.

I think I’m keeping this beauty of a shirt.  I really like the fit and chambray is classic.

I can tell I liked it best because I took the most pictures in this one.  Ha!

Item # 4:  HIP Analis Graphic Knit Tee

This was a fun one to pull out of the box!  I love the saying – it reminds me of my favorite place, Disney.

I have to say I was a little “meh” on the neckline/v-cut detailing.  I think, for $34, I will just buy a souvenir top at Disney World next time I go – even though this is a cute top!

Item # 5:  Pink Clover Lanore Knot Front Knit Top

I had pinned this top to my Pinterest board for my stylist.  I’m kinda crushing on the knot front trend.

This one is really nice, soft, and I love the floral detailing.

But I don’t know…I don’t love it.  Not like the chambray top.  I think I’ll pass on this one, too (unless you all cry outrage and tell me otherwise 😉 ).

This was a fun fix to get!  I love the chambray top, I am seriously considering the jogger pants, and I might keep that Pink Clover olive hoodie.

Stitch Fix Review – March 2018

March came FAST y’all!  I can’t believe it.  March is one of my favorites months because spring is so close & it’s my birthday month.  This particular March, I’m headed on a 3 night cruise on the Disney Dream, which I’m so excited for.

In preparation for vacation, I wanted to update my wardrobe with fun pieces so I ordered a Stitch Fix box AND a box from Evereve’s Trendsend.

This review is really mostly about the Stitch Fix pieces because when your photographer is your husband, 5 items is 3 items over his patience limit 😉

BUT I did take some pictures of the items from my Trendsend box & sneak a quick outfit pic that I’m in love with, comprised of mostly Trendsend items.

Here’s what the inside of the Trendsend box looked like:

There were 2 complete outfits in the box.  I liked the attention to detail; one of the tops was tucked into the jean jacket.

The jean jacket was nice, really long in the sleeves, which I loved, but it was pricey ($85) and I already have a jean jacket.  I really liked the gray striped top, but the torso length was too short.  And the jogger pants were so cute & budget-friendly!  But I don’t know, there’s something about jogger pants that I don’t like.  I felt “meh” about them.

This outfit was cute!  The plaid top fit me perfectly, the cardigan is cute & a duster length, and the jeans are a favorite brand of mine: Kut from the Kloth.  The polka dot scarf is adorable in theory but I felt like I would have no idea how to pull it off in real life.

I ended up keeping a cardigan from Evereve I ordered separately that came the same day as my Trendsend box.  I LOVE this cardigan.  I saw Joanna Gaines wearing a similar one this past week and hunted one down for myself.

In fact, the earrings, black tee, and cardigan are all from Trendsend and I love them all.

My daughter wanted in on the fun 😉

Anyway….let’s move onto Stitch Fix!

After opening up the box, I was loving that there was graphic, stripes, AND floral in there!

Item # 1: Sophie Rue Arwyn Off the Shoulder Pullover

This sweater was my least favorite thing, pulling it out of the box.

It looked unflattering on me and the length was short, so it remained firmly in the return pile for me.

Moving on…

Item # 2: Pink Clover Unwin Cold Shoulder Knit Top

It’s always FUN to see stripes in my Stitch Fix box!

I have to say though, despite the stripes, I really hated this top!  (Tell me how you really feel…)  Ok, I will: It was baggy in the wrong places, the ties on the shoulder kept coming undone, and there was lots of extra fabric in odd places.

Blah.

Big fat nope.  This went in the return pile, too.

Item # 3:  Andrew Marc Performance: Coco Graphic Knit Top

Um, I love this saying!  I have a soft spot for graphic tees.

But the tee is a little short (pre wash and dry) and a little see-through for it to be a winner.

Item # 4:  LUQ Amadine Raglan Sleeve Knit Top

Isn’t this raglan cute?!

It’s a bright pop of color and I love the raglan style.  It’s a tad short but otherwise I like it. I love the price point, too!

I’m on the fence with this one…it’s nice Stitch Fix gives you 3 days to think about it 😉

Item # 5:  Market & Spruce Bambrey Cowl Neck Knit Pullover

I saved the BEST for last.

This floral print is just SO amazing.  I love it.  It screams “spring”.  And the length of the pullover is perfect!  And it’s not see-through.  Love, love, love.

I am keeping this beauty, and taking it on my cruise next week!

So I kept, for sure, the gorgeous floral pullover and that great cardi from my Stitch Fix and Trendsend/Evereve boxes this week for my vacation!  I am super pleased with my finds.

Stitch Fix Review – January 2018

It’s been half a year since my last Stitch Fix review.  I took a break from Stitch Fix mostly, with box here & there, just because I’ve received 40 fixes in the past 2 + years and sometimes you need to change things up.

In the meantime, I received boxes from Evereve’s Trendsend (which I LOVE).  For just $1 processing fee, you get a box anytime you want of 2-3 outfits worth of clothing.  No pressure to buy or keep and many of the same brands as Stitch Fix offers.  The Trendsend boxes gave me my monthly subscription box “fix” without the $20 styling fee.

But then a new year rolled around and Stitch Fix emailed me this lovely:

An WHOLE year of fixes without the styling fee?  YES PLEASE!  Sign me up!  It was time to get back together with Stitch Fix.

For my January Stitch Fix box I requested a budgetary friendly box heavy on the knits.  I also mentioned I was crushing on the wine/maroon/burgundy color this winter.

Kate, my usual stylist, did a great job as she always does.  Nothing was over $42 and it was all knit (except for the earrings of course!).

Item # 1:  Stella & Ruby Johnathon Filigree Earrings

I laughed when I pulled these out of the box.  Anyone who knows me well, knows dangly earrings aren’t really my thing.  #studsfordays

They are pretty, but very heavy on my ears, and too long for comfort.

I’ll be sending these back without any qualms.

Item # 2:  Pink Clover Delino Knit Top

Out of the box, I loved the floral pattern on the sleeves of this top!

The sleeves are just a touch short (I’m afraid a wash will put them to “too short”).

The band at the bottom of the top isn’t my fav.  I don’t like top with bands.  And the gray material, while SUPER soft (almost fleece-like) is see-through.  Yes, I may have been pushing it by wearing my HOT pink bra, but I was too lazy to re-take the pictures when I realized it. 😉

But all that being said, this was Jonathan’s favorite item of the box.

Item # 3:  Hip Lafayette Knit Top

I’m a sucker for graphic tees.  And this one is extra fun because the lettering is floral!  Love that!

I like this tee overall.  3/4 length sleeves are nice, it’s easy to throw on with leggings and tennis shoes, and the price is right.

The color was just a touch too “brick red” as opposed to the color of my shoes in the picture.  I am on the fence on this one…I have a couple days to think about it 🙂

Item # 4:  American Able Malla Knit Top

This top is the right color!  And cheap.  And long sleeved!

I like this one!  The detailed threads/strings in the front of the top, though, is very similar to an army green one I kept last month.

Because of that, I probably won’t keep this one.  Not because I don’t like it but because I don’t need 2 of these.  It IS cute though!

Item # 5:  Knit Riot Fifi Graphic Knit Top

How cute is this?

I mean.  Coffee + Graphic Tee + $28 = WIN

This tee is my favorite of the bunch.  If I keep anything, I think this will be it!

Wantable Fitness Edit Review – June 2017

Wantable Fitness Edit is a personal fitness clothing subscription.  It works similar to Stitch Fix – fill out your style profile and size info, pay a $20 styling fee (credited against your purchase), and if you buy 5 or more items in your edit, you’ll save 20%.

Wantable also has style subscriptions for accessories, makeup, or intimates wear.  I’ve reviewed several Wantable boxes over the past year, accessories and their Style Edit, similar to Stitch Fix.  If you want to check them out, go here.

According to the website:  “The Fitness Edit is a personal styling service that allows you to try before you buy. This means you get to try on 5-7 handpicked fitness and athleisure items in the comfort of your own home before paying for them. These items feature the hottest styles and latest innovations from brands like Lukka Lux, Shape Active, Chi Chi, Onzie, and Just Live. Item prices are based on your personal preferences but usually range from $30-$70 each.

I hadn’t tried out Wantable Fitness Edit since back in February, so it was time for another go!  I asked for yoga/lounge wear.  Since the summer, I’ve been working out in my home (using a T-tapp DVD) & wanted easy clothing to wear for that and just around the house.

My stylist sent out my Wantable Fitness Edit fairly quickly & her note was super short, citing that my edit was “athleisure-inspired”.  I received 5 tops and 2 pairs of leggings/capris.

The prices all varied but most were in the $60-$70 range.  I tried all of them on but only snapped pictures of me in my 3 favorites.  I do have pictures of each item though!

Item # 1: High Waisted Capri Cereus Yellow Spectral, $72

Item # 2:  Killer Caboose Hi-Rise Legging, $72

These leggings were great, and I loved the high rise!  But the length was too short 😦

Item # 3:  Moonshadow Tank Tropical Pink, $68

The back was cute!

But y’all.  $68 for essentially a cami tank top?  Heck no.

Item # 4:  Organic Raw Pullover Blush Crystal, $60

I loved this one out of the box & snapped a pic of it on:

It is super, duper soft and the light pink (with a slight tie dye) is so cute!  But the sleeve length was too short (it was supposed to hook into my thumbs).

Item # 5:  Lindsay Tank Eggplant, $66

I loved this tank!  The mesh detailing is cute and the color is great.  I got some pics of this item on, too.

I really like this one – I just wish it wasn’t $66!  For just $5 more I could keep the leggings.

Item # 6:  Yvette Tunic Sliver Plum, $64

Another cute purple top!

I loved how long the sleeves were on this one!  And the back was a cute detail, too.

Item # 7:  Noble Tank Sparking Grape, $48

I’m seeing a trend – lots of purple!

The cut out detailing is fun!  And the price point on this one was a nice plus, too!

Overall, I enjoyed this Wantable Fitness Edit – great, soft knit items perfect for a casual summer.

Stitch Fix Review – June 2017

My June Stitch Fix box came right on time – and as it has been awhile since my last review, I was more than ready for it.  I didn’t request anything specific this time; I just told my stylist that I was going on a short getaway with my husband at the end of the month and wanted cute and casual summer clothes.

When the box arrived I was actually at the pool – how summer is that?!

I noticed that the box was small.  And when I opened it up (I didn’t peek!), the 5 items I was sent were all tops.  Fun!

Stripes, floral, black, white, tanks and scallops.  What’s not to love?

Let’s try things on!

Item # 1:  American Able Casey Cross Front Knit Top

Initial thoughts?  I love the color and details.  The price point is fantastic.  And I don’t own anything like this.

After trying this on – I really liked it.  I had to break out the ol’ strapless bra (yikes) but it was worth it!

But after seeing the pictures when I started working on this blog, I am not so hot on this tank.  It seems unflattering on me; clingy but not in a good way.  I’m on the fence about this one.

Item # 2:  Jella C Cypress Side Slit Kimono

I was super excited to see a floral kimono in my June fix!  I’ve wanted one of these for awhile now.

My stylist said I could use it as a swimsuit cover-up, too.  I totally will!

Isn’t it pretty?!  I love it.  I really love it.

It’s a keeper for sure.

Item # 3:  Le Lis Parsons Knit Top

This top was underwhelming to me initially.  And when I was getting ready to try it on, I noticed a small hole in it.  So regardless, it’s going back – either for an exchange or just a return.

It’s very flowy.  Meh.

I added a cardigan (my new favorite from Evereve) and I liked it better.

I was going for “sexy”.  I ended up with “creepy”.  Oh well!  Lol.  I did like the back detailing of the tank.

But overall, I don’t love this tank and think this one will go back.

Item # 4:  Le Lis Deria Woven Back Knit Top

Another Le Lis brand tank.  And another stripe/floral combo.  I am seeing a theme here.  I think, perhaps, I love floral and stripes.

It’s cute in the front, isn’t it?  Fun color and stripes are always wonderful.

It’s a good length and a soft knit.  But the best part?  It’s in the back.

Floral print?  Love.

The fit, overall, is a little boxy on me.  I’m debating on this one.

Item # 5:  Loveappella Riora Pleated Knit Halter

Out of the box, I wasn’t really loving this one.

But I don’t know.  I kinda like it on.

The pattern in the front is fun.

The back is a soft knit & plain.  But I don’t own a halter – so I’m debating on keeping this top, too.

By the way, can we talk about my released hem jeans?

I just got them and I love them!  The fact they are long enough for me is a blooming miracle.  Stitch Fix sells them, but I found them at a local store.

My June fix was SO fun to try on and deliberate on.  I am on the fence about the teal striped tank (with the fun floral in the back) and the halter top.

Stitch Fix Review – April 2017

Every month, when I sit down to write my next Stitch Fix review, I think “Man, this month has FLOWN by!”.  April is no different!  I can’t believe the month is already half over.

My April Stitch Fix box came 5 days late, which ended up working well with my schedule to make time for taking pictures.  I had some serious battle of the wills going on about whether I should peek on my Stitch Fix app ahead of time or not, but in the end, I waited to be surprised.  I’m always happy I waited.

I didn’t request anything specific this month, so this box was a complete surprise!  I did request a “budget” fix to see what price points looked like.  It turns out Stitch Fix on a budget is FUN!

Right out of the box, I liked everything!  And this month, I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the park to play & fly kites for my photoshoot.  Let’s check out April’s box!

Item # 1:  Loveappella Nay Crochet Trim Knit Top

First impression: I loved that this cream tank top wasn’t see-through!  That’s a rare quality in a light-colored cream top, in my experience.

Unfortunately, the pros ended there for me.  I felt that the fit was a little off & I didn’t love the cut – it was boxy and too flowy at the bottom for my taste.

Yep.  Sending this one back.  If only my muffin top was returnable, too!  😉

Item # 2:  Fun2Fun Andrae Tie Neck Blouse

I’m a sucker for floral patterns – this one is no exception!

Isn’t it cute?  The drawstring is a nice touch, too.  The pattern, like I said, is adorable!  And the fabric was light & airy, too.

The length, though, was short on me.  I plan to send this one back, too.

Item # 3:  Papermoon Lonni Crochet Back Knit Top

This was my least favorite item in the box – I like the crochet detailing, especially in the back, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the plainness of the top.  But check out that price!!  $38?!  Way to go Stitch Fix for a budget-friendly item!

It grew on me after trying it on.  And even more after reviewing the pictures.

I dunno, y’all.  I might end up keeping it.  It’s cute, subtle, and a good price!

Item # 4:  Dear John Lillie Cuffed Demin Shorts

You’ve been seeing these shorts all through my previous pictures.  I couldn’t really change bottoms in the park, so I wore them with all 4 of the tops Stitch Fix sent me.

I love the Dear John brand.  These shorts are no different: great quality, good length, and good fit.

My only minor, small complaint?  The cuff isn’t sewn in place.  It came pre-rolled, but after 1 wash, it will be hard to re-roll.   And this mama don’t do ironing  Ain’t nobody got time for that.  Because of that, I’ll probably send the shorts back.

Item # 5:  Leo & Nicole Amalia Knit Top

I saved the best (& cheapest) for last!

I. LOVE. THIS. TOP.

It’s long enough to wear with leggings.  The pattern is orange and I have nothing orange in my closet.  I can’t remember the last time I tried on something orange that I liked that wasn’t Halloween themed.

I’m keeping it!  At $34 it’s basically a no-brainer.

 

Overall, this month’s fix was SO fun to try on and decide on.  I would have kept those shorts, if not for the cuff/roll not being sewn in place.  That orange top – my keeper – is just the best!  I love it.

Stitch Fix Review – March 2017

March has arrived & is already half over!  So far, I think the month of March has brought colder days that February, ironically.  But I’m still in a SPRING mood – so much so, that I put most of my sweaters away and pulled out my lighter items.  Maybe that was a little premature, given our frosty weather (there’s SNOW in the forecast this weekend, y’all), but I couldn’t help it!

I pushed my March Stitch Fix box up by a week so that it would arrive before vacation.  I figured I would rather have the new clothes *before* vacation and not afterwards.

March’s box was small but packed a BRIGHT punch!  I loved the floral print immediately out of the box (I’m totally crushing on florals this spring).

I asked for another maxi dress this fix.  If you remember from February’s fix, I received a maxi dress that I almost kept but decided, ultimately, that the elastic waistline was a deal breaker for me.  But I really wanted a maxi dress to take on vacation and I figured if ANYONE could find another maxi dress long enough for me, it would be Stitch Fix.

Let’s dig in to March’s Stitch Fix and see what Kate sent me!

*Spoiler alert* she did find another maxi that was almost TOO long for me (WHAT!?!).

Item # 1:  Catherine Malandrino Meia Ladder Bar Pendant Necklace

When this necklace arrived, it was a tangled mess that took me a good 10 minutes & several cuss words to unravel.

This was the only item Kate sent that was on my Pinterest board.  I love pendant necklaces of all kinds these days.

I love the layers and pendant length.  I wasn’t a huge fan of the tail ends.  According to the style card the necklace should look like this on:

But those two little dangles look weird to me.  I pulled them through, making the necklace longer, and liked it much better.  You’ll see that in the next set of pictures.

Item # 2:  Lemon Tart Shania Knit Maxi Dress

“Holy cow!  That is an expensive dress!” were basically my first thoughts after checking the price list.  I mean, wow.  This is a $100 maxi dress.  Ouch.

But you guys, this is, by far, hands down, no competition, THE LONGEST MAXI DRESS I’ve  ever tried on.  Ever.  And I’m 6 foot tall.

Besides the price, my other complaint about this dress is that the V-neck is SUPER deep.  I would never wear it without a cami underneath, like what is pictured.

Because of the price and v-neck cut, I probably won’t keep this maxi, even though it truly is deliciously long.  It pains me to send it back for that reason alone.  PAINS ME.

Item # 3:  Olive & Oak Ailie Swing Knit Tank

This tank top was my husband’s favorite of the bunch.

I do really love that it’s knit & the colors are great!

But I’m not a huge fan of the pattern, personally.  I try to think: “would I pick this out in a store, or am I just tempted to keep it because Stitch Fix sent it to me?”.

I feel like outside of it being a Stitch Fix item, I wouldn’t keep this.  I’ll probably send this back.

Item # 4:  Daniel Rainn Albado Crew Neck Blouse

Item # 5:  Dear John Finnegan Cuffed Shorts

Kate told me to style these 2 items together, so I did. 🙂

Now *this* is an outfit I can picture wearing on a cruise ship!  I mean, besides the pale girl wearing this outfit, the whole ensemble is screaming SUMMER and BEACH!

When I took these pictures today, it was 33 degrees out.  I was mentally working really hard to think WARM thoughts!

I love, love the shorts.  I like the brand “Dear John” and have a couple pairs of that brand already.  They are a good length; they don’t ride up or make me pick a wedgie every 10 minutes, which is a great plus for anyone who happens to be around me.  And this color is such a great pale blue, with white undertones.  I plan to keep the shorts!

Let’s talk about this blouse.  It’s gorgeous, super fun, & flattering (not too boxy or billowy).  But it’s 100% polyester (not my favorite fabric).  And Daniel Rainn is one of those brands I can easily find local to me at TJ Maxx, so it’s always hard for me to pay more than $20 for the brand.  I don’t think I will keep this either, just because of the cost.  But I could be convinced otherwise, if you think it’s a keeper!

All in all, I loved my March Stitch Fix box!  There were, as usual, a couple near-misses, and one great pair of shorts!!

Wantable Fitness Edit Review – Feb 2017

Wantable Fitness Edit is a personal fitness clothing subscription.  It works similar to Stitch Fix – fill out your style profile and size info, pay a $20 styling fee (credited against your purchase), and if you buy 5 or more items in your edit, you’ll save 20%.

Wantable also has style subscriptions for accessories, makeup, or intimates wear.  I’ve reviewed several Wantable boxes over the past year, accessories and their Style Edit, similar to Stitch Fix.  If you want to check them out, go here.

I hadn’t tried out Wantable Fitness Edit since I started running back in September, so I thought it would be fun to give it a try!  I asked for some running shorts, but something that wasn’t too short, and in general some running clothes.

After about 2 weeks my Wantable Fitness Edit came in the mail, with 2 pairs of shorts, a pair of capris, and 4 tops.

My initial thoughts, out of the box, were that the items were a little more pricey than I usually spend on work out clothing (I’m a Target/C9 Champion girl typically) but that the colors were fun!

I totally tried on this edit without makeup and dirty hair.  You know, true to form if I was headed for a work-out.  You’re welcome. 😉

Item # 1:

Tempo Charcoal Hoodie, Size Large, $98

I loved the color of this hoodie and the fabric was super soft & moisture wicking.  But the price ($98) was steep and the sleeves weren’t long enough.  I put my thumbs through the thumb holes and the sleeves were stretched much too tight.  I plan to send this back.

Items # 2 & 3:

Distance 1/2 Zip Amaro Blue Cyberia top, size large, $88

Freestyle Capri Black/Cyberia, size large, $68

I liked that these 2 pieces matched.  The top was a great pull-over but I had the same problem with this top that I did with the hoodie: the sleeves were too short.  In fact, the only work out clothing that have been long enough in the sleeves for me were either men’s tops or Athleta clothing.

The capris were just ok; I have several pairs of work out capris in mostly black and then even more in other colors.  I didn’t need them & had asked for shorts, so I was really looking for shorts instead.

I plan to send both items back.

Items # 4 & 5:

Glider Performa Tank in Black, size large, $42

Tropical Storm Shorts in Black, size large, $49

So I really liked the black tank.  It was nice & long in length and black is always a great work-out color.

The shorts, though, I wasn’t a fan of.  They were ‘booty short” on me.  I wanted more length – these shorts I could wear around the house, but running in them would be impossible without me tugging at them constantly.

I plan to send the shorts back & am thinking about keeping the tank.

Item # 6:

Shape Active Core “S” Seam Tank, size large, $34

I liked this tank top less than the black one.  It was shorter in length and nothing that special.  I plan to send it back.

Item # 7:

Mono B “Burn Out” Jogger Short

If I thought the black shorts were short, these shorts were EVEN shorter.  And they aren’t made for running, more for lounging.  I was really hoping for some running shorts so I am sending these back, too.

Overall, I was a little disappointed in this  Wantable Fitness Edit.  I have received one other fitness edit (here) and I liked it much more.  The one thing I did specifically ask for, running shorts that weren’t “booty short”, wasn’t sent so that’s kind of a bummer.  I do like that black tank, but otherwise nothing WOWed me.

Stitch Fix Review – February 2017

February has simply *flown* by & I can’t believe it’s time for me to write up another Stitch Fix review!

I gave basically no instructions in my note to my wonderful stylist, Kate, this month.  I told her this fix would be my (early) birthday fix AND my “I’m going on my first Disney Cruise” fix! *insert SQUEAL here*

Kate styled this fix with the cruise in mind and none of the items were on my pinterest board.  She did a fantastic job!

My initial thoughts just looking at the items out of box were that I loved the colors & summery items.  It’s refreshing to get non-sweater items in a fix!

I had a lot of fun playing around with pictures this fix – the colors and patterns of items made it FUN!

I tried on this box quickly because I want your opinion, as usual, and this time I have until Tuesday to decide!

Item # 1: Hazel Fawcett Embroidery Detail Knit Top

Item # 2:  Kut from the Kloth Siena Cropped Pant

Kate picked this top out & suggested I pair it with the fuchsia cropped pants she also sent.  She thought it would be a great causal outfit for the cruise.  So I paired them together trying things on.

I love the color of the pants.  And the embroidered top is a little flowy, but super summery and feels like a fun top for the cruise.

The pants fit  like a glove & are bright & PINK (I love pink).

The top’s embroidered detail is gorgeous.  I love it.

I’m undecided on both of these though.  The pants are a little snug in the calves.  I’ve always had big calves, so this isn’t an unusual problem for me.  And the top is a little boxy.  Any thoughts on these pieces?

Item # 3:  En Creme Pearla Ruffle Hem Knit Top

Let me start by saying: black & white stripes.  LOVE.

I love this top!  I love the stripes and I’ve always loved the peplum look.  This isn’t true peplum, but it’s close.

Buuuuuut….the peplum/ruffle hem isn’t super flattering.  Will I wear this piece?  I think I will.

Jonathan isn’t a fan of this one, but I can’t help it.  I really love it.  Be honest, y’all.  I can take it.  Is this top worth keeping?  Or is the peplum/ruffle hem a no-go?

Item # 4:  Renee C Reyna Knit Maxi Dress

Jonathan loves maxi dresses, and so he was happy to see Kate sent one for our vacation.

This is a super long maxi dress – crazy it’s long enough for my 6 foot self.

It basically screams “beach” with it’s bright colors and fun chevron pattern, doesn’t it?

I don’t know, though.  I feel like this isn’t that flattering on me.  The elastic waist isn’t my favorite.  I’m, SHOCKER, undecided on this, too.

Item # 5:  Fun2Fun Nova Crochet Detail Tunic

Kate mentioned that this tunic could be worn with shorts and strappy sandals OR it could be used as a cute swimsuit coverup.  I love both ideas.

I love the length!  I love that it’s white.  I am not a fan that it’s see-through.

 

It IS super fun to wear with shorts and sandals, though.

Guess what?  I’m undecided on this one, too.

I feel like I could go either extreme with this fix: either I keep 1 item (probably the blue tunic or striped top) or I keep it all!!  This is what I love about Stitch Fix: you have 3 full days to decide.  I like being about to sleep on it, get outside opinions (YOU!!), and pair my new Stitch Fix pieces with items already in my closet.
